Stripes on Stripes on Stripes (and polka dots)

I, along with a lucky few of you, am allowed to rock casual clothes to work on the daily.  This is quite exhilarating because I love me a pair of jeans (see previous posts for details) but it is also troublesome because my business casual wardrobe is seriously lacking.

As a young girl, my Dad stressed the importance of what he termed “anticipatory thinking”.  For those of you who are unfamiliar with the term, he was trying to teach me that I should ALWAYS be prepared for EVERY situation at ALL times.  Naturally, when applying this philosophy to my closet, it became clear that I may not work in a business casual environment now, but one day, I might (or, at least, I may have to pretend to – I find the other attorneys at CLE events really respect you more if you give the impression that you suffer in suits and heels all day like they do).  #sorryimnotsorry.

What better place to ensure you are prepared (and respected) than JCrew.  I have detailed my love of the JCrew Factory Store in previous posts but let me reiterate –  If 20% off your order of $100 or more doesn’t convince you, I don’t know what will.  Their pieces are so affordable and the pattern mixing options are endless.  Their accessory game is also on point and I was able to nab this necklace for under $50 – I tell everyone I meet it cost a small fortune.  Naturally.

Of course when we visited the Factory outlet in Texas, I did stray from “business casual” and picked up a few neon summer skirts and comfy v-neck tees.  To be fair, my dad did say to be prepared for EVERY situation so I had to be sure to diversify.  Words of wisdom Dad – You the best.

Side note: It is becoming to clear to me that many of my blog post titles are inspired by the lyrical genius of rap artists.  It would be remiss of me not to include this week’s inspiration.  After all, our goal is to broaden your horizons –

Skirt (Extra 20% off with code “SHOPMORE”); Top (similar); Necklace; Shoes (Splurge); (Steal)
